Project results and content:
Taijiang Wetland School is an environmental education brand of the TAIJIANG NATIONAL PARK Management Office, and it provides a variety of environmental education services. On September 11, 2017, it became the nation’s first environmental education service provider to receive the Wetland Mark.
To promote wetland education, in 2012, the Park engaged educational institutes, communities and residents through Taijiang Wetland School. Through innovative thinking, Taijiang’s unique wetland ecology, history and humanities, and fish and salt industry have been transformed into various types of educational courses and programs, allowing learners to explore the amazing wetland area. In addition to national park guides, fishermen and oyster farmers give lessons on fish farms and boats, making it a major feature of the Taijiang environmental education curriculum. By getting out and about the Wetlands and experiencing the beauty of ecology, visitors dig deep into environmental subjects and raise awareness and actions of conservation.
There are 12 programs available now. The course leads students to get close to the land, learn in the outdoors environment through the five senses, and use different teaching strategies to explore and reflect on various environmental issues in depth, cultivate attitudes and skills, and implement the concept of friendliness in personal life and daily actions.
